Meet the "Little Mamas"
I always love meeting new people at races - especially when they are from out of town or heading to a race out of town. I've always wondered what would happen if I gave that person something and had them pass it to someone at a race, and then they pass it on, etc.
Well - apparently someone else had the same thoughts so they created "Where's George" - a tracking system for dollar bills where you can enter the serial number of a dollar bill marked with "www.wheresgeorge.com" and see all the places it's been. When I got my first "Where's George" dollar bill, I was headed to a race expo and it hit me! I wanted to create a little trinket of sorts that could travel around to races all over the country (and beyond!) being passed from runner to runner and let their story build.
In comes our "Little Mamas". Simple little buttons - each with their own name and personality. This is more than just a pin - this is a piece of motivation, a pick-me-up, a spring in your step. This little piece of plastic, paper and metal is worth more than gold (ok, maybe not so don't go trying to cash it in).
Why is it so special?? Because in order to get one - someone has to strike up a conversation with you and offer it to you to take to your next race. Once you receive one you will know you were selected from a sea of runners and you should feel honored. And then it will be your turn to pass the torch.
So.... what do you do with our "Little Mamas"?
These "Little Mamas" like to get around. They like to cover lots of mileage. They like to see new things and make new friends. This is how we will help them accomplish that:
When you have passed them on, you will go to the website listed on the "Little Mamas" pin and enter your story. We want to know what race they ran, how many miles they covered, what places did they see, who did they run with, did they set any PRs with you?
As they get passed around you will see their stories build on our blog and you will be able to live vicariously through our "Little Mamas".
Our first 5 "Little Mamas" will be heading out soon on their first adventure, so stay tuned and see where they end up!!
In the meantime.... Lets all wish "Moxie" (Mother of Speed), "Cadence" (Mother of Finishing), "Kara" (Mother of Girl Power), "Betty" (Mother of Sweat), and "Diana" (Mother of Awesome) good luck on their journeys!

My Race Ragz Giveaway
Everyone loves a custom shirt come race time - something that says why you are running, who you are running for or in honor of, something that lets you show your unique personality.... But when it comes down to it, it would be impossible to create a one of a kind shirt that looks GOOD without costing an arm and a leg... OH WAIT - THERE IS A WAY!!!
MyRaceRagz.com is the PERFECT place to create a uniquely designed race shirt!!! Search thousands of funny running related themes - or create your own using their super cool interface. You can even start with a design they already have, then click "customize" and start adding to it!!!
When you start from scratch, just select a blank shirt style you like (you can change it during the design process), then to the right click "Customized Shirt" And start designing your perfect shirt!!
You can click to choose from their database of designs or upload your own... add text... add more designs... and the MRTT logo is even in there!!!
You can put designs on the front and back and choose from a variety of shirt styles. The shirts are super soft, they have women's cuts available, and they will wash great so you can wear them again and again (not like something you try to craft yourself with puffy paint and printable iron ons)
It's seriously a super cool way to get your one of a kind shirt for race day!!!!
We are giving away a little sample shirt with our MRTT logo (no, not the tacky one above haha) to one lucky person PLUS a $20 gift card to put toward the purchase of a custom shirt!!! The shirt we are giving away is size Small (and they do run kinda small) so please know this before entering the contest... however the $20 gift card will go towards whatever you decide to get ;)
Here are a few ways you can enter ;)

Zensah Giveaway
I swear I keep seeing Zensah compression EVERYWHERE!!!! Maybe it's because they have such great bold colors, the people that I've stopped said they swear by the compression, must be great stuff!!!
Well we love great stuff :) So we asked the folks over at Zensah if they wanted to do a giveaway and WOO HOO they were on board!!!
They sent us an AWESOME pair of pink tie dye arm compression sleeves to try - however the heat wave just hit Georgia so minimal clothing is being worn during our runs. We did have to pull them out and slip them on just to try!! They were UNBELIEVABLY soft and comfortable - oh and did I mention ridiculously cute???? Heather loves her some arm sleeves so I know this is killing her not to be able to wear them yet. ;)
OH WAIT - WHAT'S THIS???? I just read.... "Zensah compression arm sleeves provide protection from sun. The Zensah compression arm sleeves shield and protect arms from harmful sunrays while the silver ions are thermal regulating, keeping the arms cool by wicking away perspiration with protection of UPF 50+"
WOWZA - Alright Heather - I'm not holding this giveaway for you - so get out there and go for a run with your neon tie dye pink sleeves, in the meantime we will start the giveaway!!
Let's see what else I didn't know about the arm sleeves: Here is a list of benefits of Zensah Compression Arm Sleeves as told from their website:
All you have to do is...... well you know the routine....
